Joseph Bros. Refinishing was established by Harold Joseph in 1998. He began repairing furniture for his grandmother, after she asked if he could strip the finish off an old piece of furniture she had. This gave him an opportunity to learn about stripping and refinishing. He discovered his ability to repair broken furniture by taking his grandmother’s furniture apart and putting it back together.
He was eventually hired by Star furniture in 1995 as a shop associate. While at Star, he continued to build on his skills by repairing commercial furniture.
His love for furniture restoration lead him to seek a job with a local furniture restorer, who instead of hiring him encouraged him to open his own business. He said, “Joseph, you can do this yourself."
